Austin, TX (July 9, 2015) Ambiq Micro, a leader in ultra-low power integrated circuits for power-sensitive applications, today announced the appointment of Dale Hancock as Vice President of Engineering.  Mr. Hancock brings over 20 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry and has joined the high growth start-up with immediate effect, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President, Mike Noonen.

“Dale’s experience will be invaluable to Ambiq Micro and he is a welcome addition to our management team” said Mike Noonen.

Scott Hanson, CTO and Founder stated, “Dale comes to Ambiq Micro with an excellent track record of bringing complex mixed-signal SOCs to high volume production, meeting aggressive schedules and hitting critical market windows.”

Dale will be responsible for leading the engineering department in developing new semiconductor products using Ambiq Micro’s proprietary Subthreshold Power Optimized Technology (SPOT™) platform.  SPOT dramatically lowers the energy consumption of semiconductors by reducing the voltage level at which switching occurs inside the chips. The company has already implemented this technology into products including real-time clocks as well as a microcontroller family, all of which are manufactured using a standard CMOS process.
